{"id":58,"date":"2007-10-04T06:44:29","date_gmt":"2007-10-04T11:44:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ericgharrison.wordpress.com\/2007\/10\/04\/welcome-to-the-apple-ibrick"},"modified":"2007-10-04T06:44:29","modified_gmt":"2007-10-04T11:44:29","slug":"welcome-to-the-apple-ibrick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericgharrison.com\/?p=58","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to the Apple iBrick"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"msgcns!E4092A968B7C1A54!271\" class=\"bvMsg\">\n<p>Today, after returning from being on the road for 11 hours visiting clients and prospects, Deb plugged her iPhone into her PC (running XP), and without thinking, said Yes to installing the latest iTunes &amp; iPhone update.\u00a0 Normally this wouldn&#8217;t be a problem.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the update didn&#8217;t work.\u00a0 It basically bricked her iPhone.\u00a0 I figured out how to reset the iPhone and got it to resync with Outlook again which involved lots of button mashing, PC resetting, USB port changing, and voodoo incantations.<\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t documented the error codes or anything because there are tons of people out there complaining about this problem.\u00a0 Apple has screwed up but good on this one.<\/p>\n<p>Funny thing is, I was just saying to someone a few days ago about the iPhone being the only thing that has been reliable for Deb, so it was worth it, regardless of the cost.\u00a0 I guess that&#8217;s no longer true!<\/p>\n<p>And before any naysayers pitch in about the update &quot;bricking&quot; the iPhone due to mods &#8211; are you nuts?!
