Research re: Increase in deaths in FL during Covid

I’m sure this won’t change anyone’s mind. If you already believe that Covid isn’t real, and that all the statistics are just made up, then even more facts won’t change your mind.

However, this is handy to have around: https://ajph.aphapublications.org/doi/10.2105/AJPH.2020.306130

Foreign Threats to the 2020 US Federal Elections

Just keeping this handy. I’m sure I’ll never need it, but if I do, it’s here.

Misinformation for Money – on Parler and others

https://www.protocol.com/parler-misinformation-macedonia

How much of the misinformation is out there just to stoke up rage and page views? Certainly some people believe and repeat things that are just strange (flat Earthers perhaps?), but to do it for cash is beyond callous.

Of course this has been happening with a couple of cable “news” networks, so I guess I really shouldn’t be surprised.

Turing Pi – an interesting Pi cluster solution

Not something I need today, but maybe when I run out of things to do (hahahahhahaaa) I should pick one of these up and mess around with it.

Conferences from 2020 I’m keeping track of

2020 was obviously the year where conferences either cancelled or went online. For many of those that went online, all, or most, of the content has been made available. These sorts of things are great resources – even if you didn’t have the time to watch when they were happening ‘live’.

Countries that welcome you while working remotely abroad

Just keeping track of this for the future – once travel is safe again, it would be nice to spend extended periods of time working somewhere else.

I told my wife a few months ago I really want to look out my office window and see a beach… until this travel can happen, I am periodically putting 4k beach scenes on my office TV. It’s not quite the same, but it’s a start!

National Review article repudiating claims of a stolen election.

Hanging onto this – I don’t have the energy to argue with people who claim the election was stolen. National Review has done a great job of documenting why this just isn’t the case. They are not supporters of Biden in any way, but even they have to call out the shenanigans going on by extreme partisans.

And another link – this one boiling down the baseless claims regarding the Dominion voting matchines: https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/12/a-whopper-of-an-election-rigging-claim/
